Our day is marked by moments of prayer, work, sharing, and true friendship.
The day starts at 6:00 a.m. with wake up call. We learn how to make our bed well and take care of our personal hygiene.
The first moment of our day is for the Lord: we pray the Rosary together in the chapel to entrust our day to Our Lady. We read the Word of God for the day, which is light that illuminates the journey of life.
Then we go to breakfast and get to work. The jobs are varied and each is entrusted with a task for a certain period of time and then it changes. This is because we believe that work is an opportunity for growth. As Mother Elvira often repeats to us, the most important job that Community teaches us is the job of living. All the responsibilities of the home, from the kitchen to the cleaning, from the vegetable garden to the work rooms are carried out by the boys and girls who live in the fraternity. The Community is a body of which everyone is a living part!
Lunch is at noon, and is a time of family gathering, we believe eating together helps foster the communal spirit. After lunch, you get together for a moment of free time. At 1:00 p.m. you resume work which takes up the rest of the afternoon. The second Rosary is prayed during work, to learn that it is possible to pray even while you work. The third Rosary is normally recited at 6:30 p.m. while walking and sharing the Word of God and one’s own life, in a climate of friendship and truth. Then there is dinner, followed by some moments of games and friendship. Bed time is at 10:00 p.m. It is a very simple, orderly life, which brings harmony to life and peace to the heart.
The week doesn’t lack of moments of play, of unity in simplicity and joy, of singing, and of serenity.
