On Saturday March 23rd the Community celebrated 9 years of life in our Alabama house, Our Lady of Joyful Hope. We began the day with the holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Robert Baker; where four of our brothers received various sacraments. It was a very joyful moment to see them take this step in their journey of Faith. Bishop Baker spoke of the need we have as Catholics to realize who we are: missionary disciples. He asked that we not keep our Faith locked up inside, but to bring that ray of hope: that we are saved, forgiven and loved to all people that we meet. He also reminisced of the obstacles overcome through the intercessory power of St. Joseph in helping with the opening of the house, reminding us to go to St. Joseph in all of our needs. We continued our celebration with testimonies and dances performed by the young women of the St. Maria Goretti house. Staying true to our community charism of finding our freedom in Christ and having the courage to be ourselves, the men from Alabama performed a comical but profound skit about the Lenten journey. We enjoyed the afternoon of good food and fellowship with all of the friends of Community. We are truly blessed to have so much support and love; and we can all pray together, St. Joseph thank you, provide for us.
