From the words from the homily of Bishop Carlos:
“Life is movement, life is being thoughtful, life is giving , life is receiving. We have to give importance to everything. The only true meaning of life is love.”
This has been the theme for our Festival of life. We spent two days of joy, sharing and encountering with many of our friends.
Everything started on Saturday at our house in Villa Salvador where we had a meeting for the parents of the guys in Supe, where prepared the parents for their encounter with their sons. It was wonderful having the presence of Don Michel with us. There were many moments of sharing, praying, and reflection. It was a blessing having new parents with us, also having faithful ones who continue to walk with their children who are in community or have exited.
On Sunday we all gathered together at Rayo de Luz. We were united; the babies , aunts, nuns from Villa El Salvador, and the men from the house Supe. There was also families and friends present to celebrated this Festival of Life with us. We started the festival of life with gesties followed by the Holy Mass celebrated by Bishop Carlos and Don Michel. During the mass, one of our missionaries Katlin received her missionary cross. Receiving the missionary cross is a symbol of receiving the cross of Jesus and his way of loving us. It’s a reminder to live the difficulties with him. The aunties from Villa Salvador presented a dance that was filled with life and joy. At the end, the children, aunts and uncles from Rayo De luz presented the live nativity scene. It was very touching seeing everyone putting their heart in it and living it as a prayer. At the end of the recital we all had an adoration in front of Jesus. We gathered together and it was a strong moment of thanking Jesus for the gift of life.
We thank God for the gift of providence in all three houses, for Mother Elvira, for all those who pray for us and support us. We thank Mary because her “yes” has changed the world.
