Lenten Family Retreat

Our Lenten Parents and Families Retreat is scheduled for Palm Sunday, March 14-16. The retreat site is Camp St. John, adjacent to Marywood Retreat Center, where we met a few years ago. For those of you who are relatively new in Cenacolo, Camp St. John is set up with bunk bed dormitories, each housing 36 people. There is a dormitory for men and a dormitory for women, totaling 72 spaces. Camp St. John has its own chapel, meeting rooms, and kitchen facilities, so everything is available to us on site.

Where?

We encourage you to stay at Camp St. John, so that we can experience the weekend with as many commonalities as possible to the daily life of your sons and daughters. They all sleep in bunk bed dorms with their brothers and sisters in Community, share the common bathroom space, and chat at night from their bunks 'til it's lights out.

Cost

For those who bunk for the weekend at Camp St. John, the total cost for the entire retreat, bunk already included, is $75 per person. For those who stay elsewhere, the cost for the retreat itself is $65 per person.

The rooms at Marywood Retreat Center, just a short walk down the path, are also available to us. The cost per night at Marywood is $55 for a single room, $65 for a double, and $75 for a triple. Every room contains a double bed and a single bed. We encourage all of you to try to stay either at Camp St. John or at Marywood, because driving back and forth to motels interrupts the flow of the weekend.

Arrangements

If you choose to stay at Marywood, you need to make the arrangements directly with Marywood Retreat Center. If you choose to stay at Camp St. John, however, please call the Community so that we can put you on the list.

Details

Please plan to be at Camp St. John or Marywood by 4 p.m. the latest on Friday, March 14 so that you can settle into your space. The retreat itself will begin at 5 p.m. As usual, we will begin with Vespers, the Holy Mass, and the Rosary followed by dinner and the family session.

We're asking all the dads who have made an experience to do "cucina" and "servizio" for a big American breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning.
